“Living A Legacy Worth Leaving”

Lead Pastor, Stephen Macaluso

Live life with a due sense of responsibility, not as those who do not know the meaning of life but as those who do.  Make the best use of your time...               Ephesians 5:15, 16 (Philips)

3 enemies of “Legacy Living”

A. Unclear ethics

B. Unrealistic expectations

C. Unsustained energy

1. Line up your priorities

Good friend, take to heart what I’m telling you; collect my counsels and guard them with your life.  Tune your ears to the world of Wisdom; set your heart on a life of Understanding.  That’s right– if you make insight your priority, and won’t take no for an answer, Searching for it like a prospector panning for gold, like an adventurer on a treasure hunt, Believe me, before you know it Fear-of-God will be yours; you’ll have come upon the Knowledge of God.    ..

Good Sense will scout ahead for danger, Insight will keep an eye out for you.  They’ll keep you from making wrong turns, or following the bad directions.                     Proverbs 2:1-5, 11, 12 (Message)

When you say, ‘The altar of God is not important anymore; worship of God is no longer a priority,’ that’s defiling.                          Malachi 1:7 (Message)

We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.  We should make our plans, counting on God to direct us.                                     Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)

2. Lighten up your attitude

Worry weighs us down; a cheerful word picks us up.                     Proverbs 12:25 (Message)

A relaxed attitude lengthens a man’s life.             Proverbs 14:30

A cheerful disposition is good for your health; gloom and doom leave you bone-tired.                       Proverbs 17:22 (Message)

3. Look up to God

Reverence for God adds hours to each day...                   Proverbs 10:27

Reverence for God gives a man deep strength.                             Proverbs 14:26

Trust the Lord completely...in everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.                                          Proverbs 3:5, 6

Some people have missed the most important thing in life— they don’t know God.              1 Timothy 6:21

Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should.                         Psalm 90:12
