Proverbs 14:34    Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.

Isaiah 1:2-4, 16-20     Hear, O heavens!  Listen, O earth!  For the Lord has spoken: "I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me... wash and make yourselves clean.  Take your evil deeds out of my sight!  Stop doing wrong, learn to do right!  Seek justice, encourage the oppressed.  Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow." "Come now, let us reason together," says the Lord.  "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.  If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; but if you resist and rebel, you

will be devoured by the sword."  For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Matthew 5:17-20     "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.  Anyone who

breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kindom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.  For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."
