“Love The Lord With All Of My Soul”

Lead Pastor, Stephen Macaluso

Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, is this ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’”    Mark 12:28-30

3 ways to love the Lord with “all your soul”

1. Seek Him passionately

But if from there you seek the Lord, your God, you will find Him if you look for Him with all your heart and with all your soul.         Deuteronomy 4:29

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God.      Psalm 42:1

O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You, my body longs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.             Psalm 63:1

My soul yearns, even faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.                       Psalm 84:2

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.                Matthew 5:6

Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.  Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.                                                 John 4:14

2. Love Him personally

I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.     Psalm 116:1

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth...For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.   Psalm 96:1, 4

3. Follow Him persistently

Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.             Psalm 143:8b

Then [Jesus] said to them all: “If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”   Luke 9:23

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will save it.”                    Luke 9:24

The time came when the Lord God formed a man’s body from the dust of the ground and breathed into it the breath of life.  And man became a living person.    Genesis 2:7 (LB)

Then [Jesus] breathed on them and told them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”        John 20:22 (LB)
