“People Matter More Than Things”
Lead Pastor, Stephen Macaluso
“Love the Lord
your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all
your mind and with all your strength.
The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30, 31
Valuing your relationships with others
means:
1. Asking:
What’s worth my time?
For we are
God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared
in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
But Martha was the jittery type and was worrying over the
big dinner she was preparing. She came
to Jesus and said, “Sir, doesn’t it seem unfair to You
that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her, “Martha, dear
friend, you are so upset over all these details! There is really only one thing worth being
concerned about. Mary has discovered
it—and I won’t take it away from her!” Luke
10:40, 41 (LB)
2. Asking:
Who’s worth my trust?
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be
content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I
will not be afraid. What can man do to
me?” Hebrews 13:5
“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground
apart from the will of your Father. And
even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than
many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31
3. Asking:
Who do I need to put on my calendar?
“A new command
I give you: Love one another. As I have
loved you, so you must love one another.
By this all men will know that you are My
disciples. If you love
one another.” John 13:34, 35
